4 moderate earthquakes shake Eastern Taiwan

TAIPEI--A series of four moderate earthquakes jolted Hualien County in East Taiwan early Friday, but there were no reports of casualties or damage, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).

The first of the quakes, a magnitude-4.2 temblor, struck at 2:33 a.m. and was followed by a magnitude-3.5 quake at 2:35 a.m., the CWB's Seismology Center said.
