Updated Saturday, March 20, 2010 12:15 am TWN, The China Post news staff Two hunting accidents in as many days in HualienA man surnamed Liao was shot in the head when he went hunting with a group of friends in the afternoon of March 16. ”We were eating and he went out to inspect the gun,” Liao's older brother said, “then it happened.” After the accidental discharge of the 200-centimeter long gun, Liao's brother walked 20 kilometers before he reached a spot where his cellular phone was able to receive reception. Rescuers did not arrive in time due to the faraway location and poor weather conditions, local reporters said. Local reporters said just a day later, a 48-year old aboriginal man surnamed Chiang was also killed in Ruisui County when his gun accidentally discharged and shot Chiang in the left cheek.
