President Ma visits welfare organizations in Hualien

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- President Ma Ying-jeou visited more underprivileged children and teenagers in Hualien, on Saturday.

Following his visit of the Zenlight Nursery School Friday, Ma visited the New Dawn Development Center for the disabled, the Mennonite Foundation and the Mennonite Good Shepherd Center to learn more about the social welfare organizations in Hualien and the problems they face.

Children at the New Dawn Development Center performed “Amazing Grace” to welcome the president.

Ma gave the children red envelopes to wish them a happy Chinese New Year. The president then put on an apron and baked some cookies, to the delight of the children.
