Man steals gov't agency equipment as revengeThe man, surnamed Su, allegedly stole the monitor as revenge on the government after receiving a traffic violation ticket for riding a scooter without a license. He became angry when he realized that he had to pay another NT$10,000 in late fees when he went to pay for the original citation on March 15, police said. Surveillance footage showed the suspect pretending to fill out a form at a counter while unplugging wires from the monitor. The suspect regretted the theft and returned the monitor to the outside of the agency two days later, but the police had already narrowed in on him since the agency staff reported the missing equipment. Su was still charged for the theft. According to police, Su has prior convictions of drug possession and theft charges. | |||||||||||||
