Judge Tsai's home in Chiayi spray-painted with threats

Graffiti found on Tsai's old home at the village of Xikou in the county of Chiayi condemned the judge as a pawn of President Ma Ying-jeou, who “deserves death.”

Tsai and his family no longer live in Xikou. Only his old aunt lives at the spray-painted home alone.

Police found no eyewitnesses yesterday after receiving a complaint from Tsai's aunt.

“We are investigating the case,” a Chiayi police spokesman said. “We know there are death warnings against the judge,” he added.

He said the smearing took place early yesterday morning.

The aunt was quoted as saying that she hopes nobody would do anything to her nephew, who “has been assigned to try” the former first family.

Former first lady Wu Shu-chen was also convicted of corruption and given life imprisonment.
