'Flowers in Changhua 2010' runs Feb. 14-21

CHANGHUA, Taiwan -- The “Flowers in Changhua 2010” series activities will kick off on Feb. 14, Valentine's Day, for an 8-day run in the central county of Changhua, dubbed as “homeland of flowers,” with people around the island welcomed to join the activities and see a wide variety of beautiful flowers, according to a press statement issued yesterday by the Changhua County Government.

There will be some major venues for the activities. In the highway flower garden of the Tianwei Township, visitors can enjoy beautiful chrysanthemum walls and flower columns; and they can tour romantic flower fields and an exhibition of potted seedling plants at a seedling zone.

In Xizhou Park of the southern part of Changhua County, there will be the nation's largest show of masterpieces in a chrysanthemum flower arrangement competition. In addition, creative flower-decorated floats, romantic wedding hall decorations, classic horse carriage parade, and various flower-based images will also be available. Visitors can enjoy a colorful world of flowers and feel the new life and vitality of the flower homeland.

Furthermore, the Changhua County government has prepared as many as 99,000 seedling plants to be given away to visitors.

To facilitate visits, the Changhua County government will offer free shuttle bus service from parking lots to the various venues from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during Feb. 14-21.
