The 2013 Pacific Islands Forum was held Sept. 3-6 in the Marshall Islands, one of Taiwan's diplomatic allies.
According to foreign media reports, the Taiwanese ambassador was turned away when he showed up for a post-forum discussion that involved China.
Lin, however, said that the reports were not factual because it was never arranged for Taiwan and China to simultaneously attend the same discussions at the annual forum.
The discussion mentioned by the media has nothing to do with Taiwan, Lin said.
He stressed that the Taiwanese delegation, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Joseph Shih, was received with courtesy.
The Pacific Islands Forum is an inter-governmental organization that aims to enhance cooperation between the independent countries in the Pacific Ocean.
