Japan group shows thanks with wheelchair donation

TAIPEI--A Japanese private group donated wheelchairs to a Taipei-based charity foundation Monday in thanks for Taiwan's help in the wake of the powerful earthquake and tsunami that hit northeastern Japan in March 2011.

The Mrs Nippon Grandprix donated 10 wheelchairs to the TVBS Caring for Taiwan Foundation, established by Taipei-based television station TVBS, to thank Taiwan for its generous support and donations in the wake of the disaster.

It was touching that Taiwan made great donations to Japan shortly after the earthquake and ensuing tsunami, said Mihoko Hanajiri on behalf of the Japanese group at a donation ceremony in Taipei.
