NIA to improve Internet information for foreignersCNA TAIPEI--The National Immigration Agency convened an interdepartmental meeting to discuss how to improve a website that provides information for foreigners in Taiwan.
January 11, 2013, 12:01 am TWN Representatives from agricultural and environmental agencies, as well as police and representatives of the foreign community in Taiwan, put forward suggestions for making the website more useful for foreigners, the agency said Thursday. The “Information for Foreigners in Taiwan” website is currently available in Chinese, English and Japanese and offers information on matters ranging from visa applications, tax filing, and medical issues to work, education and housing in Taiwan. Foreigners can also call the hotline at 886-800-024-111 if they have any questions about working, living or traveling in Taiwan, the agency said. Launched in 2005, the website (http://iff.immigration.gov.tw/mp.asp?mp=T002) has so far attracted 2.77 million visits, according to the agency.
