TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Taiwan and Indonesia signed an agreement yesterday under which nearly 100 Indonesian teachers will receive training in Taiwan in the near future, according to the Taipei Economic and Trade Office in Jakarta.
The office said 94 Indonesian university teachers will soon arrive in Taiwan for three-month training sessions at eight domestic universities, with their tuition, board and miscellaneous fees to be paid by the Indonesian government.
Starting from 2011 the Indonesian government has listed Taiwan, Germany, Austria and New Zeland as four priority countries for advanced studies and offers scholarships for university teachers for higher education.
The teachers will be trained in a electronic engineering, engineering management, structural engineering, agriculture, physical education and English, the office said.
They will also visit Taiwanese enterprises to see how the companies operate.
The universities will also help the Indonesian teachers apply for master's or doctoral degree programs in Taiwan.
