The wedding ceremony, witnessed and blessed by Tainan Mayor Hsu Tain-tsair, took place according to traditional rituals with music provided by a Chinese folk music orchestra and a parade of wedding assistants in ancient garb bearing the bride in a sedan chair. “Tainan City is home to me and Britton, and that is the reason we chose to get married here amid its cultural ambiance,” said Nioka, a Kyoto native. Chance and Nioka decided to tie the knot after knowing each other for 26 years. Chance, who was selected as a member of the United States National Academy of Sciences in 1952, is currently teaching at the NCKU. Subscribe to The China Post and save 25%.
