Yamaguchi governor to pay visit to promote ties

TAIPEI--The governor of Yamaguchi prefecture in Japan is scheduled to visit Taiwan in early September to discuss advancing exchanges between his prefecture and Taiwan, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Tsugumasa Muraoka, who was elected as governor of the prefecture in February, will visit Taiwan from Sept. 8 to 10 and meet with Lee Chia-chin, chairman of the Association of East Asian Relations, to discuss bilateral cooperation, the ministry said.
Muraoka will also promote agricultural products from his prefecture and hold meetings with Taiwanese companies, the ministry said.
