Delegation of benevolent association to visit Taiwan

WASHINGTON D.C.--The Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA) in the United States will send a delegation to Taiwan in a show of support for the government and to gain a better understanding of the island's political scene.

During the visit, the group will meet with President Ma Ying-jeou and other government officials, said CCBA President Rita Lee Wedenseday.

She was speaking at a flag presentation ceremony chaired by Leo Lee, Taiwan's deputy representative to the U.S., and attended by a 21 member CCBA delegation.

The group will assure Ma of the association's support and encourage him to keep doing what is right for Taiwan despite his detractors, the CCBA president said.
