The “coral reef ambassadors” and their 13 chaperones, all from six junior and senior high schools in Hsinchu in the north and Pingtung in the south, were chosen by the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium (NMMBA) to represent Taiwan.
They are set to visit San Diego, California Jan. 17-29, according to the museum.
The students are practicing their English at the museum in Pingtung so that they can better communicate with their American counterparts.
They are also preparing for presentations and talent exhibitions, the NMMBA said.
