Relations with diplomatic allies all normal: MOFA

TAIPEI -- Relations with all of the Republic of China's diplomatic allies are normal, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Ko said Monday.

Ko told lawmakers at a Legislative Yuan committee hearing that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has conducted comprehensive reviews of relations with each of the country's 22 diplomatic allies and bilateral cooperative programs with each of them after The Gambia unilaterally announced severance of diplomatic ties with Taiwan Nov. 15.

“The overall review shows that relations with all of our diplomatic allies are normal,” Ko said at the hearing of the Legislative Yuan's Foreign Affairs and National Defense Committee.

“None of our relations with our diplomatic allies are in a 'red light' situation,” Ko assured lawmakers.
