Taiwan and Honduras kick off 'glasses project'CNA TAIPEI--Taiwan and Honduras kicked off a project Feb. 14 in Honduras that is set to benefit children with poor eyesight in the country who cannot afford spectacles.
February 17, 2013, 11:36 am TWN Republic of China Ambassador to Honduras Joseph Kuo jointly held an opening ceremony for the project Thursday with Rosa Elena de Lobo, the first lady of Honduras, at an elementary school in the country's capital of Tegucigalpa, according to an email statement from the R.O.C. Embassy. Kuo praised the first lady's initiative for the project and said it will help boost the performance of school children in the country. Children aged between 6 and 12 years will be given free eye exams and be provided with glasses if necessary, according to the terms of the project.
