TAIPEI--Taiwan and Canada have launched a training seminar in Taipei to examine Canada's experience in implementing policies to protect human rights.
The seminar, titled "Implementing International Human Rights into Domestic Law and Policy: The Canadian Experience," is being jointly hosted by Taiwan's Ministry of Justice and the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei Oct. 16-18.
Around 500 Taiwanese public sector employees are expected to attend the event, which will include lectures by senior legal counsels from Canada's Department of Justice.
They will speak on Canada's approach to implementing policies and laws to protect fundamental freedoms, equality rights, cultural rights and fair trial rights.
