Culture minister expresses willingness to visit BeijingCNA TAIPEI--Culture Minister Lung Ying-tai said yesterday she is more than willing to visit China if invited since her Chinese counterpart came to Taiwan two years ago.
September 6, 2012, 12:14 am TWN The minister made the remark at a press conference held to brief the media on her visit to the United States and Canada in late August. It was her first overseas trip since being sworn into office in February. Visits to other countries, including France and Britain, are also being arranged, she added. Asked whether she is likely to visit China in her capacity as Taiwan's culture minister, Lung said her title must be mutually accepted by both sides and the best time for such a visit will be early next year. “I think since Minister Cai Wu visited two years ago, I should visit him in return out of courtesy.” said Lung. |
