Legislative speaker to visit US and Central AmericaCNA TAIPEI--Legislative Speaker Wang Jin-pying will leave Saturday on a visit to the United States and Central America, during which he will deliver a speech in Anchorage and meet with the United Nations mission chiefs of Taiwan's diplomatic allies in New York.
August 18, 2012, 12:40 am TWN On the Central American leg of the trip, Wang will visit two of Taiwan's diplomatic allies in the region — Nicaragua and El Salvador. In the U.S., Wang will give a speech at the opening of the annual meeting of the U.S. National Speakers Conference in Anchorage, Alaska. “Stephen G. Lakis, president of the State Legislative Leaders Foundation (SLLF), invited me to attend the Anchorage meeting,” Wang said Friday. The speaker said he will focus on the common vision of Taiwanese and American legislative institutions on issues such as democratic values and public interest.
