Vice foreign minister of Belize pays visit to Taiwan

TAIPEI--Vice Foreign Minister of Belize Alexis Rosado arrived in Taiwan Monday to review bilateral cooperation and gain a wider understanding of the development of cross-Taiwan Strait relations, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Making his third trip to Taiwan, Rosado is scheduled to meet with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Simon Ko, as well as visit the Straits Exchange Foundation, the Central America Trade Office and the International Development and Cooperation Fund in Taipei.

He is also scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the 2012 Taipei Food fair Wednesday and to inspect the Belizean Embassy in Taipei during his five-day visit, said the ministry.

The visit, which will also take him to Asustek Computer Inc. and the Nankang Software Park, is expected to provide Rosado with a deeper understanding of the development of Taiwan's information technology, infrastructure, politics and economy.

The Central American country has had diplomatic ties with Taiwan since 1989.
