Officials state beef products no longer hurdle for TIFARaymond Burghardt, chairman of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), said last week during a visit to Taipei that restrictions on U.S. beef imports could complicate the TIFA talks. But Taiwanese officials said the beef row has not had so much impact as thought, and it no longer has anything to do with the TIFA talks, the United Evening News said. TIFA covers a wide range of issues that require both sides to reach a consensus on, and both Taipei and Washington agree that the “time has not yet come,” the officials were cited as saying. | |||||||||||||
