Updated Friday, March 26, 2010 3:02 pm TWN, By Garfie Li and Sofia Wu, CNA President makes transit stop in GuamAmerican Institute in Taiwan Chairman Raymond Burghardt, the top U.S. liaison officer with Taiwan in the absence of formal diplomatic ties, boarded Ma's chartered plane to welcome him upon arrival. Guam Governor Felix Camacho and U.S. Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo also came to the airport to greet Ma. Ma departed the Solomon Islands earlier in the day on his flight to Palau via Guam. Palau will be the sixth and final leg of his week-long diplomatic tour of the country's six allies in the South Pacific. He already visited the Marshall Islands, Kiribati, Tuvalu, Nauru and the Solomon Islands. This is Ma's fifth overseas trip since he assumed office in May 2008.
