Pres. Ma to attend South Pacific summit in OctoberThe Solomon Islands will host the summit on October 20, a MOFA spokesman said. Six heads of state, aside from Ma, will attend the summit in the capital of the Solomon Islands. The six states, all diplomatic allies of Taiwan, are the host Solomon Islands, Palau, Naoru, Tuvalu, Kiribati and the Marshal Islands. Ma will be accompanied by first lady Christine Chow. The first couple are expected to leave Taipei on October 17. They will return on October 22. On their way back to Taipei, the Mas may visit Palau and one more Southern Pacific state, the MOFA spokesman said. The itinerary will be finalized in early October, he added. | |||||||||||||
