TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Taipei-based Tatung University (TTU) has recently signed agreements with four Viet

namese educational institutions to boost cooperation in manpower cultivation, a TTU official said yesterday.

The four Vietnamese institutions are the Ho Chi Minh City University of Pedagogy (HCMCUP), the International Business and Law Academy, the Hanoi University of Business and Technology (HUBT) and the Hanoi National University of Education, the official stated.

TTU --affiliated with Tatung Co., a long-established manufacturer of electrical and digital consumer products -- has collaborated with the company in designing projects to train TTU students in various occupational skills, the official went on.

TTU has decided to seek talent using the projects to cultivate students from the Vietnamese educational institutions in the hope that the talent can serve as new blood for the company's Vietnamese operations, according to the official.

The HUBT has decided to recommend 15 students to the TTU in the next semester to study for master's and doctoral degrees, while the HCMCUP has not only decided to send six graduates to the company's Vietnam offices in the near future, but will also launch a project in which 30 HCMCUP students per semester will work as interns there.
