An apology was issued by the Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau on Wednesday in response to plagiarism accusations over the poster design for the southern city's famed Guanziling Hot Spring Festival.

Busting the joint
A marijuana bush standing three meters tall is shown in the photo taken at a papaya farm in Tainan, Saturday, July 23. The marijuana grower, surnamed Chen, has been arrested by the police. Up to 64 marijuana bushes were found on the farm. As the planting area is in a remote location and could not be seen easily, police who had been tipped off had to pose as farmers, tracking a river and passing through waist-deep bushes to reach the farm.
 
Tainan seeks recognition for 7 Taiwan prefecture ruins
The Tainan City Government plans to seek approval from the Culture Ministry to recognize seven more ruins of Taiwan Prefecture (台灣府城) as a national historic monument by year's end.
 
Big cash for saving energy

More than 1,000 geese at a farm in the Xinhua District of Tainan in southern Taiwan were destroyed Monday after samples from the farm tested positive for a new strain of H5 avian flu virus, according to officials.
