Winter wonderland
A visitor is seen hiking through snow on Xueshan, also known as the Snow Mountain, on Thursday, March 2. A strong cold front has arrived on the island just after the 228 holiday earlier this week. Several areas in the Shei-pa National Park have turned silver again, with snow accumulating of nearly 10 centimeters. The Seventh Special Police Corps of the National Police Agency warned visitors to be extremely carefully in the coming days.
Nantou attractions
Cherry blossoms are in bloom at the Aowanda National Forest Recreation Area (奧萬大) in central Taiwan's Nantou County. The Forestry Bureau welcomes visitors to Aowanda to observe Taiwan's cherry blossoms.
Cycle in paradise

A foreign worker was found dead Tuesday after falling into a 100-meter deep ravine, police in Nantou County said that day.
The 2016 "Come! Bikeday" cycling festival was held at the scenic Sun Moon Lake in Nantou County Sunday, drawing more than 3,000 cyclists from 20 countries.
Man dies in Nantou paragliding accident
A man died in a paragliding accident in Puli, Nantou County on Saturday, with initial investigations pointing to a failed takeoff.
The Nantou County Environmental Protection Bureau (NTEPB) announced Monday it would increase water monitoring efforts in Sun Moon Lake leading up to two large-scale swimming events at the popular attraction.
