Head of mainland affairs body in Hunan province

TAIPEI--Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) Chairman Lin Join sane expressed hope Tuesday that Taiwan and China's Hunan province can develop a complementary relationship that is both competitive and cooperative.

Lin, who is on a March 26-31 visit to Hunan and Hubei provinces, made the remarks when he met Xu Shousheng, secretary of the Communist Party of China's Hunan Provincial Committee.

For his part, Xu said there are currently 2,000 Taiwanese businesses that have invested in his province, adding that Hunan offers a lot of incentives for the development of Taiwanese businesses.

He noted that as of the end of 2012, Hunan had received Taiwanese investment of US$6.107 billion in more than 30 sectors, including electronics, automobiles, logistics and real estate.
