Opposition DPP official to meet with Taiwan's China investors

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- A Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) official is prepared to meet with Taiwan's China investors for a meal this Thursday, in what the latter has called a "historic first."

Chairman Samuel Kuo (郭山輝) and other members of the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland (全國台灣同胞投資企業聯誼會) are in Taipei this week to attend a Kuomintang (KMT)-sponsored public hearing.

DPP Legislator Kao Jyh-Peng (高志鵬) confirmed to local media that he is to attend Thursday's hearing at the Legislative Yuan and to have dinner with the business interests afterward.

The opposition party's gesture of outreach is a historic first, said a member of the China-based business chamber on condition of anonymity.

As a demographic, Taiwanese investors in China have tended to swing blue.

But they are "not necessarily an iron ballot for the KMT," posted DPP Legislator Hung Chih-kun (洪智坤) to his Facebook page late Tuesday.

"In the end, it will depend on how the DPP interacts with them," Hung said, urging his party to seize the upcoming opportunity for interaction.

Its very simple. The reason mainland investors vote blue is because the DPP 'hate anything China'. They hate the Communist party, they hate the Chinese people, the pinyin system, "mainland food' such as Peking duck and Cantonese cuisine, Chinese goods, Chinese culture.. and probably even Chinese animals and birds.

They believe there is no reason to do business with China, even though it is the 'factory of the world'. They believe its best to shut down all the borders and simply run off the domestic economy. Even though the majority of Taiwan's GDP relies on trade.

Also can't help wonder what Kao is going to say to them. "Ah-Bian is innocent" probably - seeing as he's one to his staunchest defenders. Or maybe "Stealing from the people is ok, as long as you hate China".

Majority of Taiwanese are actually descendants from China. Brother hates brother....this is what DPP is promoting to people here that leads to self destruction!

Who needs to hate China when they are lining your pockets with money?

Seems the CCP or perhaps both the CCP and KMT have hit with right pricing point and pricing structure with Samuel Kuo.

It's as simple as that.
