Kaohsiung sees mainland visitors rise since isle spat

KAOHSIUNG--The number of Chinese tour groups visiting the southern port city of Kaohsiung has increased in the wake of the recent tension between Japan and China over the disputed Diaoyutai island chain in the East China Sea, Kaohsiung Association of Travel Agents Chairman Shen Pen-li said yesterday.

There was an obvious increase in the number of Chinese tour group arrivals in October, while the number scheduled to visit in November has also increased, Shen said.
