HK chief has no plans to visit Taiwan soon: official

HONG KONG--Donald Tsang, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, currently has no plans to visit Taiwan, his office said yesterday.

A spokesman said the office usually announces the itinerary for Tsang's overseas visits one week before his departure and will not publicize travel plans that are months or a year away.

The spokesman was responding to questions by the CNA reporter on whether Tsang planned to visit Taipei in early May for the opening of the Hong Kong Economic and Cultural Office in Taiwan, as was reported in a Taiwanese media yesterday.
