Updated Sunday, November 22, 2009 12:03 am TWN, The China Post news staff ARATS vice president to wind up week-long visit todayThe party was held at the Grand Hyatt Taipei, with participants also including members of Wang's delegation and top executives of key news media, recently headed by Chiang to visit mainland China. The exchange of visits by Wang's delegation and Chiang's delegation is seen as a warm-up for the upcoming fourth round of talks between Chiang and his Chinese counterpart, ARATS's president Chen Yunlin, in the central city of Taichung, in December. During the week-long stay in Taiwan, Wang and his 13-member delegation visited the National Palace Museum, National Taiwan University, members of the ruling Kuomintang, the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Huashan Culture Park and other establishments in the greater Taipei area. Wang also took time out to visit the famous Shihlin night market in Taipei, toured the Eslite Bookstore and some cultural establishments in Taichung. This was Wang's second visit to Taiwan. Formerly a vice minister in charge of China's national security and intelligence and a deputy director of the Taiwan Affairs Office under Beijing's State Council, he visited Taiwan in July 2008 in his capacity as ARATS vice president.
