K. Chiang, chairman of SEF and his mainland counterpart from Association for Relations across the Taiwan Strait (ARTAS), Chen Yunlin seems unaffected by the Dalai Lama's recent visit to Taiwan, according to an insider on cross-strait proceedings. In this fourth meeting between Chian and Chen, topics of discussion will include cooperation between cross-strait fishing industries, inspection for agricultural products, general product inspection standards and measures to avoid double taxation. As for the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), Kao said that he is not sure when the Executive Yuan wants to commence further negotiations. The Chiang-Chen talks were scheduled to take place twice a year as an informal medium to discuss cross-strait relations. The last meeting took place late April in Nanjing.
