Chunghwa Telecom unveils traffic app to smooth way for commuters

Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan's largest operator, yesterday announced an app that provides the most updated traffic information to drivers.

The app aims to help drivers stay away from traffic jams, which are common during rush hours and before holidays, Chunghwa said.

The software provides up-to-date information for up to 10 national expressways and 12 freeways, allowing drivers to know what's happening on these highways.

Users may preset roads that they use most often and get up-to-date traffic information. The system will also give out an audio signal if there was an accident ahead, Chunghwa said.
