UK to show off Olympic infrastructure May 10-11

The China Post news staff--The British Trade and Cultural Office (BTCO) in Taiwan will hold an exhibition in Taipei on May 10-11 to showcase major venues of the London Olympic Games and share building technologies with Taiwan's construction industry.

The exhibition titled "Great British Infrastructure: 2012," which focuses on Olympic venues and transportation infrastructure associated with the event, will take place at the Taipei International Convention Center, according to the BTCO.

The United Kingdom plans to use the sporting spectacle as an opportunity to transform east London, where several main venues are located, and improve the local standard of living.

The exhibition will highlight on the environment throughout the planning of the Olympic Games. It will also include several transportation works connected with the Olympics, such as upgrades and expansions at the Stratford, King's Cross and St. Pancras stations, as well as projects to increase capacity levels on the Docklands Light Railway system, the BTCO said.
