University hosts workshop with focus on smart living

TAIPEI -- The 2012 Intelligent Smart Living Space International Workshop: City Culture Context is taking place March 19 to 23 at the Department of Industrial Design, NCKU. The event is organized by Smart Seed Union at College of Planning and Design, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU).
The workshop brings together 45 students with diverse majors selected from universities nationwide, and seven internationally renowned designers, including Mark Braun from Germany, Alexander Pelikan from Holland, Oscar Honeyman from Norway, and 3 Taiwanese designers, Yu-Tsung Hu, Mei-Chun Liu, and Shih-Hsun Ou.
Fong-Gong Wu, vice dean of the NCKU College of Planning and Design on behalf of dean Feng-Tyan Lin, welcomed all the distinguished guest designers and the attending students, “as one of the three innovation consortia of the Talent Cultivation Program for Smart Living supported by the minister of education.”
