Hakka Festivities will cut the mustard in January '12

The Hakka Festivities ( 客庄十二大節慶) will kick off its fourth year of operation in January 2012, with new festivities to be launched in the new year, according to the Cabinet-level Council for Hakka Affairs (CHA, 客家委員會), organizer of the events.

Hakka festivities have been upgraded from local activities to those featuring national participation, and have made such major events as Hakka Liuduei Cultural Carnival in southern county of Pingtung and Hakka Tung Blossom Festival become well known and recognized by nationals.

Through the festivities, local people have achieved a deeper understanding of Hakka history, Hakka culture, and the Hakka lifestyle, as well as many other aspects related to Hakka peoples.

In 2012, people will be able to enjoy the famous specially preserved leaf mustard offered by Gongguan Township of Miaoli County in northern Taiwan.

In order to attract more young people to participate in the festivities, the CHA will expand the online marketing channels and launch a series of online activities related to the Hakka festivities.

More information is available on the CHA's website at:
