Updated Friday, July 30, 2010 9:23 am TWN, CNA Golden Horse to honor Hsu Li-kong, Sun YuehThe Golden Horse Awards, the Taiwanese version of the Academy Awards for Chinese-language movies, will present a lifetime achievement award to Hsu and a special contribution award to Sun. Hsu and Sun will receive the honors at this year's awards ceremony on Nov. 20 in northern Taiwan's Taoyuan County. Hsu, one of the co-founders of the Golden Horse Film Festival, has helped cultivate several new-generation directors including Ang Lee, Tsai Ming-liang, Lin Cheng-sheng and others who have earned awards in Berlin and Venice film festivals. Lee, one of the most famous among the group, won an Oscar for best foreign language film with the Chinese-language “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” and best director for the English-language Hollywood film “Brokeback Mountain.”
