Taiwanese movie claims award at Busan film fest

TAIPEI--Taiwanese filmmaker Chang Jung-chi's movie “Touch of the Light” has won the KNN Movie Award (Audience Award) at the 17th Busan International Film Festival, according to the festival's online final report released Saturday.

The movie was the only Taiwanese film to win an award at the event. The two other nominated Taiwanese films were “Together” by Hsu Chao-jen and “Go Grandriders” by Hua Tien-hau.

Based on a true story, “Touch of the Light” is about a girl who dreams of becoming a dancer and develops a friendship with a blind musician.

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. (South Korea time).
