Salami product sold in Costco recalledThe potentially fatal condition causes violent diarrhea. When infected with Salmonella, children, the elderly, and those with low immunity can become seriously ill. Eleven people reported illness after consuming Daniele's salami product in the United States (U.S.) last Saturday. Costco Taiwan reported it to Taiwan Food and Drug Administration, Department of Health yesterday and announced a voluntary recall of the product. It contacted the 1,300 people who bought the product. Consumers can return the product to the six Costco stores which sold it. Costco said if consumers fall ill after consuming the product, it will bear the medical cost upon presentation. The Department of Health has not received any report of illness from consumers so far. | |||||||||||||
