Fines proposed for helmet-less bike ridersThe lawmakers proposed that the traffic law be revised to slap bikers or their passengers with a NT$500 fine for not wearing helmets. Bicycling has become a popular recreational activity and means of commuting in Taiwan, but there are no specific laws and regulations that apply to it. The proposal, authored by lawmakers Chu Fong-chi, Chen Hsiu-ching, Justin Chou, and Lin Chien-jung, was forwarded to the legislative transport committee. | |||||||||||||
