Business in northern science park is booming

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Business is booming in the Lungtang section of Hsinchu Science Park, in northern Taiwan, with its output totalling NT$23.1 billion (US$710 million) as of October 2006, according to Hsinchu Science Park Administration.

The Lungtang park, which originally occupied 76 hectares, has been expanded to 106 hectares due to the strong demand from new enterprises looking to establish operations there.

With a current workforce of 3,200, the Lungtang park is expected to attract investment worth NT$300 billion by 2010, generating output worth NT$100 billion and creating more than 10,000 jobs.
