The suspects made out with NT$1,850 in cash, as well as cigarettes and betel nut bags. The betel nut salesgirl, a 25-year-old Vietnamese national, was slashed on her arm when she tried to resist the suspects. When the siblings’ father went to visit them, he said he was disappointed at them, reported the United Evening News. The suspects were visibly upset and, in the presence of their father, kneeled down to ask for forgiveness from the betel nut salesgirl. According to police, the brothers are drug addicts. The younger Lo had been released from jail in April after a seven-year sentence for drug trafficking. Because the younger Lo did not have money to sustain his addiction, he enlisted his older brother to rob the local betel nut stand. Subscribe to The China Post and save 25%. Click here |
