All major transportation disrupted as Krosa hitsDomestic flights were mostly canceled for the day, while many international flights were also canceled beginning noon. Normal services will not resume until at least noon today. High-speed rail service was disrupted at 6 p.m., to be resumed at noon today. The high-speed train services remained mostly normal yesterday morning, except that they were running more slowly at certain sections because of safety concerns. Arrival time for each train was extended 20 to 30 minutes. But beginning 3 p.m. the high-speed train only offered reduced services, with trains departing every half hour, until they were completely suspended at 6 p.m. all services were canceled beginning 2 p.m., except the Tzuchiang trains running between sections south of Changhua County. Traffic on the eastern coastal artery linking Suao and Hualien was completely blocked at the 141.9-km point because of mudslides, triggered by heavy rains. Highway authorities said repair work on the road in the eastern mountains cannot start until noon today. | |||||||||||||
