CLA to work with BSI on disaster reduction systemCLA Chairman Lu Tien-lin, BSI Taiwan Branch General Manager Gao Yi-min, and Director-General of Bureau of Standards, Metrology, and Inspection Chen Chieh-shan signed a declaration on cooperation in the relevant field earlier in the day, the official said. The official said Taiwan’s occupational disaster rate has registered a 50.6 percent decrease since the CLA launched an occupational safety promotional program in 2001. However, he said Taiwan needs to make greater efforts in occupational safety management systems in order to meet the standards of more advanced countries and further lower occupational accidents. He added that Britain has the lowest occupational disaster rate in the world, and thus it is worthwhile learning from its experience with occupational safety management systems. | |||||||||||||
