NCCU to begin exchanges with U. of Delhi in 2008

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Taipei-based National Chengchi University (NCCU) will begin student exchanges with the University of Delhi next September after the two signed an agreement in August, establishing sisterhood relations, a spokesman for the NCCU said yesterday.

Under the agreement, each of the premier universities in their countries will send two students to the other side to study, the spokesman said.

NCCU and the University of Delhi began talks on cooperation affairs last December when executives of the NCCU Center of International Education and Exchange took part in an education show at the university in the Indian capital.

In August, Dr. Sreemati Chakrabarti, director of the East Asian Department of the University of Delhi, signed the sisterhood ties agreement at NCCU during her visit to Taiwan, according to NCCU officials.
