According to article 19, paragraph 1 of the Consumers Protection Law, mail order retailers must allow customers to return products for a full refund within 7 days of purchase for any reason and freely cancel orders prior to receipt without any extra fees. In addition to the missing refund information, the labels failed to include the vendor’s complete name, full address and service phone numbers. The CF report also cited several packages for missing the correct Chinese names of the products. The phone numbers on the labels were for reorders only, which according to the CF, falls short of full compliance with consumer protection laws whereby package labels must include a customer service number. The CF’s report also cited one company for failing to provide nutritional information and the moon cakes’ total weight. Subscribe to The China Post and save 25%. Click here |
