Education head to attend Norway education seminar

TAIPEI,Tawian -- Education Minister Tu Cheng-sheng, who is currently on a visit to Europe, will lead a delegation to attend an annual conference of the European Association for International Education (EAIE), slated to take place in Trondheim, Norway, Sept. 12-15, an education official said Tuesday.

According to the official,a seminar on Taiwan’s higher education, to be dubbed Taiwan Session, will be the focus on the last day of an education fair affiliated with the EAIE conference.

The delegation is composed of 41 members, including representatives from the nation’s 19 colleges and universities, and personnel from the Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan.

At the seminar, Tu and delegation members will introduce the development of Taiwan’s higher education system, methods of teaching Mandarin Chinese to foreigners, and educational policies dealing with foreign students in Taiwan.
