Holiday freeway toll schedule from September 22 to 25

Taiwan -- Throughout the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from September 22 to 25, all freeway toll stations in Taiwan will temporarily cease collections between 12:00 a.m. and 6 a.m. and shoulders on select freeway sections will be open to motorists.

The No. 1 Freeway between Neili and Chungli in both directions and southbound on the No. 3 Freeway between Tashi and Lungtan will have shoulder access between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from September 22 to 25.

The Ministry of Transportation and Communications is expected to announce later whether the toll-free hours will be extended to September 26, the first workday after the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Based on previous traffic patterns, volume on northbound freeways the day following a long holiday have been light, suggesting a reduced need for toll-free hours the day following this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, the National Expressway Bureau said.
