Chinese Taipei wins Asian Junior Baseball Champs

Chinese Taipei successfully won the title for the second year in a row at the AAA Asian Junior Baseball Championship by defeating South Korea 1: 0 in the central city of Taichung Wednesday.

Chinese Taipei’s pitcher Huang Chih-lung who played through all of the nine innings yielded only one hit to South Korea while striking out twelve players.

The Chinese Taipei’s winning run was scored at the second inn thanks to Lien Chih-yuan who stroke a second base hit which helped a teammate already on the second base to run home.

The championship organized by the Baseball Federation of Asia has drawn six teams from Japan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
