Cultural Affairs chief to visit United States, Canada

Wong Chin-chu, chairwoman of the Republic of China Council for Cultural Affairs, will make a two-day trip to Washington, D.C. next week and is scheduled to visit the U.S. Library of Congress, the National Museum of Natural History and several museums affiliated with the Smithsonian Institute, a Taiwan official posted in the U.S. capital said Saturday.

Stanley Kao, the Republic of China’s deputy representative to the United States, made the announcement while meeting with Taiwan reporters stationed in Washington.

Kao said the representative office will arrange two activities for Wong when she is on her first visit to Washington since assuming her post earlier this year.

In addition to Washington, Wong will also visit other cities in the United States and Canada, Kao added.
